Hello February.

sunset on January 31

Hello February,

I’ve been looking forward to you for weeks. Of course you have Valentine’s Day right in the middle, but there’s so much more to love about you:

♥ Longer days and those first signs of spring – cherry tree blossoms and daffodils.

♥ A birthday party for my favorite sister – who turned fifty this week.

♥ A good reason – finally! – to watch the Super Bowl.

♥ Another President’s Day weekend trip to Madison (and another reason to see if I can bang out two more sweaters before I leave on the 16th).

♥ A visit from my friend Diane, our first meeting in real life.

♥ A FaceTime call (still the next best thing to real life) with Honoré.

♥ A month of letters … and real mail!

♥ Four weeks to practice a new mindfulness habit
and to work on being grateful for all the things.

See why I’m excited about you? Let’s do it!

xo – M.

p.s. I know the rest of the Think Write Thursday crew wrote their letters yesterday, but I had other priorities. Please forgive me for being a day late!

  1. Great post welcoming February and all the things you are looking forward to this month. It's fine to add your Think Write Thursday post any time during the week – I leave the link up open until the following Wednesday of each week just for that purpose.

  2. That is a long list for a short month, filled with all kinds of good things!Looking forward to those cherry tree and daffodil photos; we won't see them here until March or April.

  3. You have a lot of wonderful things planned for this month, I hope you enjoy it all! I'm very interested in the Henri Nouwen Society you linked to,I've enjoyed many of his books over the years.

  4. A great long list for a short month – enjoy! Love your sunset photo…our days have been so grey lately. Sunrises have been like fire! But sunset colors aren't happening much.

  5. A great, great list – of course! As you say: filled with lotsa love and connections with family and friends…looking forward to sharing it all with you! Cheers~

  6. Oh, I have some envy for your February – Facetime with Honore! Yes, big time envy! And that sunset photo – wow! It has been far too long since we have seen one of those here in Pittsburgh! Yes – ENVY! Have a great weekend XO

  7. You have so many wonderful things to look forward to in February! I'm looking forward to the end of "inversion season" mid-month and to snowdrops appearing towards the end!

  8. What a great month ahead! (I'm a fan of February.) I'm envious of your trip to Madison…it's hard not to see our kids! Happy Birthday to your sister!

  9. Yes to longer days! And it seems there is a Delaware connection to the Falcons in Paul Worrilow – so another reason for us to root for the Falcons in my house. February sounds like it is going to be a great month for you. : )

  10. Lovely to hear your welcome and excitement; I normally dislike February a lot but this year, for some reason, I feel much more upbeat. Our cherry blossom is still months away, but we do at least have snowdrops. Hoping you enjoy that birthday celebration :).
