Five on Friday | TGIF.

Hello friends and happy Friday! I realized this morning that the stories I have to share don’t fit so well into TGIF and I have five … so here’s a nod back to an oldie-but-goodie here on mere-et-filles:

LucyCam …I loved all the photos Marc texted me of Lucy while I was away last weekend … and also the promise of Porch Time and the lovely azaleas in our backyard

Porch Time! … I wasted NO time enjoying all that our porch has to offer. I’ve enjoyed lunch outside every day, along with some after lunch knitting and reading.

Storytime on the Porch … Tuesday afternoon with the boys. We spent nearly half the after school time on the porch, including Charlie’s homework, snacks (it’s smoothie season again), and storytime. Sam chose the book and he and Charlie alternated reading the postcards … they paused after they read the postcard to show me the illustration. it was the best!

Porty FO Photos … happened yesterday. It was super sunny and a little warm … and I’m delighted that a few of the 70+ photos Marc took were fine (Lucy even makes a guest appearance). I also updated the project on Ravelry (details here).

Peonies! spied on yesterday’s morning walk.

Wishing everyone the best weekend available!

  1. Peonies, my goodness. Generally, those are May flowers here but this year who knows. Everything else has been about three weeks early. Porch time sounds like the best way to enjoy the season. Have a nice weekend.

  2. Your sweater turned out so beautifully — those colors are so perfect for right now! It’ll be a while yet before I can sit on my porch, so I have porch time envy (though I have that all the time because mine isn’t screened in and isn’t quite as comfortable as yours).

  3. It’s sunny and 60 here so I’m headed out to my porch soon for some knitting and listening time. I do envy your screened porch. Your Porty is lovely and so are your azaleas!

  4. How did you and Lucy do with the weekend away? (She went to Beaufort last year, didn’t she?) It looks like she and Marc took very good care of one another.

    And Cheers to porch time!!

  5. I bet Lucy missed you greatly 🙂 After a deep freeze we are supposed to warm up once again. Frodo is shivering non stop because he has his summer hair cut…poor boy!

  6. Love seeing Lucy and the boys enjoying porch time together! The sweater is lovely and I have some peonies coming up in my front bed and I have no idea how they go there. A couple are the same color as above- a very nice surprise after my 6 + hour drive?!?
