We started talking about and planning this weekend last July … we chose Thomasville because it’s not too far for a long weekend (about 4 to 4-1/2 hours driving time) and we wanted to visit The Bookshelf in person. We … Continue reading Thomasville Weekending.
This past weekend was our 13th(!!!yes, this amazes all of us!) … and happy to report it lives up to all our shared expectations. From my perspective, the weekend is all about sharing this place with my family-who-are-friends. Here’s what … Continue reading Beaufort 2023.
I left home dark early Monday morning and slept in my own bed Thursday night. Looking back at the photos, I’m really impressed with how much I saw in that short time. Lauren and her husband Bill are wonderful hosts! … Continue reading Santa Fe.
Welcome home me! Our 12th(!!*) visit to Beaufort was memorable in all the good ways. I just spent a few hours looking back at this year’s photos and previous years’ blog posts (#beaufort) and wow. This place is rich with … Continue reading Beaufort 2022.
Hello, friends … yes, I’m back home … and slowly adjusting to “real life” again! Coming back to a weekend helped a lot. Marc made sure there was plenty of salad and the weather gods finally sent us a breath of cooler air. I’ve enjoyed wearing different clothes (especially clean ones) and re-discovering a few of my favorite things. This was my view Thursday evening … shortly before the Braves lost 😦 and also shortly before heading to my own bed and my own pillow 🙂 Friday morning I walked to the lake. It’s as pretty as I remember. and … Continue reading Home.
Hello friends and happy Friday! It’s hard to believe it’s been ten days since I arrived back in Atlanta. Thankfully my body has adjusted (that five hour time change was a doozie for at least a week) … but looking back over all the photos and video from my trip, I can tell there are definitely still parts of my heart and my mind that might stay in Bristol for a while (or at least the “three to five years” that Sara will be living there). I toyed with the idea of making this post fit my typical Friday TGIF … Continue reading A Love Letter to Bristol.
Hello friends and happy Monday! …especially after what was – for us! – a FIVE DAY weekend. Yep, we left for the lake early Wednesday and enjoyed a very full day and night there with Katie and her family before driving home Thursday afternoon. I shared three of my favorite photos from the trip with y’all on Friday. Here are a few more …and – of course – a video (36 hours collapsed into about that many seconds) whoa, no wonder we were tired 😉 The pool, the grounds, s’mores, fireworks, and of course the lake … the Ritz does … Continue reading July 4th Weekending.
Back on Monday, I promised y’all two weekending posts … and before another weekend arrives, it seems like a good time to share our long weekend in New York (also wow! – it’s hard to believe I was getting ready to leave two weeks ago tonight). Marc and I flew up to NYC early Friday morning and came home the following Tuesday evening, so we had 4-1/2 days in the city. This was my third trip there to see Sara … and Marc’s first. I think this was also Marc’s first non-business visit there since … college? and also our … Continue reading Weekending in NYC.
Hello friends! It’s good to be home … sitting at my kitchen counter … looking back through the photos of the weekend. but of course it’s Tuesday. and this past weekend was not the typical Marc & Mary with Holly. Nope – it was our Girls’ Weekend in Beaufort. The place and the time together are a big part of our family’s story … and mine personally. I love that it comes in a season where I’m reflecting on love, strength, and forgiveness. Gathering with family who are friends and friends who are family seems like the perfect way to … Continue reading Beaufort Weekending.
Re-entry has been challenging … a six hour time difference and two little boys … well …. I felt a bit more like myself last night (and then the Braves lost – gah!!!) but hopefully … I’ll be back tomorrow with an Unraveled story 🙂 Continue reading A Postcard from Home.
