Late August Weekending.

When Sara and I FaceTimed yesterday, she told me how nice it was to have a quiet weekend; this was her first weekend since mid-May that wasn’t full of travel, work, entertaining, moving, or settling in. Unraveled Wednesday | Re-entry.

Hello friends! I’ve got stories to share about Bristol and I will. soon (promise) … but today I’m feeling a bit unraveled as I re-enter “real life”. Thank goodness I don’t have to go to work – just catching up on two weeks of mail, laundry, bills, etc. My head is still a little fuzzy from the flight home and the five hour time change. Birthday Weekending.

Birthdays come fast and furious around here this time of year. This past Saturday was my birthday … and we celebrated all weekend long! Thursday evening’s Thanksgiving Service was a wonderful beginning. Friday. the camellias were in full bloom – and the sun came out! But the best news came at the vet’s office. Holly was diagnosed with pneumonia the weekend before. Friday afternoon was her third set of X-rays and the first to show solid improvement and a good prognosis. Tiny Moment Tuesday.

Of course this was actually more like “all the moments” today 🙂 Holly is the most excellent snuggle-in-the-chair companion on a wet, chilly day. Weight of Ink has also been a worthy companion. as has Jaycee. I’m nearly into the triple digits of sleeve rounds (on sleeve #1)! My Aunt Betty is flying in tomorrow morning and Sunday, her daughter Beth arrives for a quick one-nighter before she and Betty drive to Alabama for Thanksgiving. As you might imagine, we have a full calendar of events planned. Sometimes Mondays.

…are best spent indoors. The rain started overnight and continues … but now our house is clean, three loads of laundry are done (the two that Marc did are also folded and put away) and I’m well into the first sleeve on Jaycee. I’m sure Holly wishes she could’ve stayed indoors all day, too. but sadly … this was us three times today.She’s now dry and resting comfortably in my lap. Unraveled Wednesday.

Whoa. Wednesday again. already. my knitting and reading don’t look that much different from last week. but I’m still joining in with Kat and crew … because Wednesday! …are stay-at-home days because Sunday afternoons are just way too much fun! YAY! but whoa. Marmie & Poppa (& Holly) are out of practice for the pace of an almost-four and almost-two year old. I’d hoped to get to knitting this afternoon, but my foot started bothering me last night and I opted to lay low and rest instead. That’s the front of the test knit I’m doing for Lori Versaci. Weekending in a Boot.

Hopefully we’re one down and one to go; but staying (mostly) inside and off my feet still made for a pretty sweet weekend. Marc got us off to a great start Friday night with snacks and the first two episodes of Yellowstone. One of his golfing buddies had talked about the show and said it was like Longmire, except with Kevin Costner. I’ll say it’s more like Dallas, except with Kevin Costner, a little more violence and awesome Montana scenery. Highly recommend! A Sunday Afternoon Outing.

Sunday afternoon, I met up with Deena and Karen for some knitting (and coffee, and chitchat, of course). At the time, I had no idea that would be my last on-my-own outing for a few weeks.
