Sara and I went to Trader Joe’s last Friday and brought home a bunch of orange tulips. I put them in a blue & white pitcher on the corner of my desk and totally enjoyed watching them open up as the week progressed. I was even inspired to make a Waterlogue. This view is from Wednesday. The blossoms were all spent by this morning and my view is now … a lot less colorful … which inspired me to celebrate the Good Stuff this Friday!
Thinking about … another summer of Book Bingo. Patty says Yes. and I say Why Not?! We’re going back to the Memorial Day to Labor Day thing this year and it’s 101 days. 101 days!! I’m planning to drop in a few new squares (Read With Us choice, specific prizes long/short lists, buddy read … no worries, I promise “matches your manicure” will not appear 😉 and will need to delete a few – any suggestions?) Based on the calendar, books finished from May 29 – September 6 will count. I’ll have the link to generate a card posted later this month. I do hope you’ll join in!
Grateful for … a delightful piece of book mail. This pretty book and accompanying note arrived in my mailbox yesterday. I somehow managed to miss ALL the hoopla surrounding this book when it launched (back in 2019). and that likely made the time I spent savoring the drawings and stories that much more special.
Inspired by … all the poetry! blog posts and Instagram and podcasts … and I am enjoying every bit of it!
Fun … our crazy crew was all together on Sunday. The weather was amazing. I can’t wait to see what memories we’ll make in the coming months and years. especially now that we’re all going to be close enough to hold hands, and laugh. together.
Wishing you the best weekend available. Sara and I will be scouting neighborhoods “in town”. good wishes welcome.
What a fun family photo! And Summer Book bingo – maybe some squares for classics or back lists or authors featured on PBS – wink, wink!
I am so glad bingo is coming back! I was just looking at my cards for last year and wondering if you were going to do it again.
Love the family photo — but where’s George?!
That family photo! I’m so happy you can all be together, with big smiles and laughter. Sending all the good wishes for you and Sara finding the perfect-fit neighborhood!
What a terrific family photo! It is so full of joy. Summer reading is always a good thing to think about.
Hooray for Summer Book Bingo AND a Read With Us Square! I love that photo of your family all together.
Now that last photo is the bestest! What blessings you have to have your family around – I am SO happy for you!!! Life is GOOD.
Here’s to Bingo and to many, many more photos like the one above in the days to come!
Oh, it’s so good to see you all together!!! xoxo
Love the photo and I’ve been soaking up the warm sun and blue skies whenever possible.
Such happy, happy pictures Mary! So happy for you that your family was all together – what a joy! Happy you will be doing book bingo again. most likely I will not participate (again) – makes it feel more like a chore for me, but I love seeing what everyone is reading and getting suggestions!
Such joy! (and book bingo!! Yay!!) That last photo is just overflows with joy! I am so happy for you!
I absolutely love when tulips do their bendy, crawly thing. They’re one of my favorite flowers, and the Waterlogue version of them is gorgeous.
Yay for Book BINGO coming back! It’s been on my mind–a lot! While spring is my slimmest reading season (so I’m learning, based on the last few years…) summer reading has been on my mind. I have a fresh approach (for me) for this year–I hope I can make it work with the categories 🙂 Thanks for hosting it again, Mary!
