New York City Weekending.

coming to you from my new-favorite Starbucks

All weekends are good, but one spent in New York, with Sara, three days of beautiful blue skies, long walks in Central Park, a Broadway show, great meals, a few cocktails and a couple bottles of wine … well, see what you think!

Friday morning’s walk in the park

an early afternoon pause at Bryant Park Grill

not the typical Friday Night Snacks … after this photo, I added hot pasta to melt the cheese and wilt the spinach. pretty tasty!

Saturday afternoon we saw Waitress with Katharine McPhee – it was wonderful!

pre-show selfie

Sunday morning’s walk in the park

Sunday brunch at Vella

New York Times crossword (we finished it!)

Sunday night’s dinner … Ina’s Panzanella (Sara’s special request)

more #blueskyblooms on this morning’s walk

one of my favorite city views … Upper West Side, seen from the east side of the path around the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir

In between all that, Sara and I spent a good bit of time making the new mere-et-filles feel more like home. I love the images she created and the new theme, layout and colors are making me smile … especially now that it’s done!

I hope you enjoy this new space, too. Thank you for visiting!

  1. Love your new space – so welcoming! And what great pics from your NYC weekend. You two certainly managed to get a lot of things/places/food into the weekend. What fun!

  2. Your new space is wonderful!! So fun that you could work on it together. And your visit to NYC… well, that’s just an amazing place to visit, isn’t it? I’m so sad that I didn’t see a show… The Band’s Visit was on my list, and I was especially sad after it won so many Tony awards!!

  3. I tend to think of NYC as a place with mainly cement and concrete, but you have shown its green and growing side beautifully! While a visit with Sara is always wonderful, it seems like this one is especially opportune so she could help with WordPress; you two have done a lovely job!

  4. I didn’t realize this was in the works, but it looks marvelous here, Mary! I LOVE your trips to NYC as it is my dream to go there and I probably never will. The walks in the park and the delicious food are just elegant and lovely.

  5. Everything looks just great, Mary! Well done! I will enjoy stopping by for a visit every day. 🙂
