And this morning, as I sorted through all the photos, I noted a few more things:
The boys play really well … together and on their own. And it was wonderful to see Marc join in, too. (He did not play golf all weekend. thank goodness!) Charlie has grown up a lot in the 13 months since he and I spent Tuesdays together. Some is certainly just his age (he’s 3-1/2 now), but I think it’s also being a big brother. It suits him.
Meal times are a Big Deal … these boys love to eat!
Sam’s “lovey” is a drill. He carries it everywhere, even to the dinner table!
Not gonna lie – these two moments from Friday evening were most welcome. (especially because Saturday morning arrived before 5 am.)

yep, the drill goes to bed with him, too |
It was also nice to see their parents yesterday morning. They all stayed for brunch to celebrate Mother’s Day and my mom joined us. Four generations all together is very special (as is getting five smiles on all five faces).
The rest of Sunday was back to typical, with naps, FaceTime with Sara, a little TV and early bedtime. We were ready for it!
I love everything about this post! I can hardly believe the boys have grown so much (even though I know that does tend to happen!), and enjoy seeing Marc play with trains and that watching the oven is still a valued form of entertainment. And the drill as lovey is absolutely wonderful! I'm glad that all of you had such a great weekend and thank you for sharing!
What a great weekend! And, Dancing Sam was my favorite! XO
It certainly looks like everyone had a great time! (But I bet you might still be a little tired…) Drill as a lovey is hysterical! Dancing Sam, watching the oven, playing trains. All such fun! That is a great ending photo of you, your Mom, Katie and the boys. What a wonderful picture.
My favorite things? Marc playing trains with the boys — and the golfing!!! Oh, yeah . . . the golfing!!! 🙂 It looks like a great weekend all around. So busy — and so fun; filled with love. Thanks for sharing, Mary. XO(And the drill. Oh, my. You just never know what kids will connect with. My sister's "lovey" was a cardboard puzzle piece with Humpty-Dumpty's face on it. My mom lived in fear of its getting wet. . . ) 🙂
love that last photo the best! Well I do like the sleeping photos too. Looks like you had a great weekend!
The drill lovey cracks me up. Sounds like a really awesome weekend for the boys and for you and Marc, too.
It looks like you had a great weekend! I enjoyed seeing Marc playing with the boys and that drill makes me laugh!
Wish we lived closer. It would be so fun to get Sam and Ellis together.
Oh my goodness, that video!! The drill — so cute! Love all that playing — trains & golf & water — and you even had them cleaning, I see. Junah & Gin each had a Swiffer in operation at my house on Sunday. ❤
This is so great! I love the dancing and the water, and really everything about this! The drill!!!
I could watch that video over and over again! Your husband and the boys playing golf — loved that! And yes, the drill. : ) What a lovely weekend all the way around – thank you for sharing!
Boys being boys! How fun, so cute! How wonderful the boys are so comfortable with you and Marc and they enjoy their time with you both. I love the picture of you, your mom, Katie and the boys, all of you together. 1 Sec a Day is the perfect way to share your weekend of fun!
Oh, this was so much fun to read and see…I can just imagine how pooped you and Marc were! Hope this weekend is quieter but t'won't be as much fun, I'm sure! Rest up!Cheers~
Busy busy boys!
