It’s been a while since I posted about a weekend at home; this one was pretty special. We started with Friday night snacks and actual cocktails.
That’s my Negroni (and popcorn); Marc’s Seabreeze was out of frame. We watched some crazy movie that Marc recorded last weekend when we had a free HBO trial. I couldn’t tell you anything about it except that it was hard to follow … and I knitted.
Saturday morning was chilly and bright and I ran to the lake and back. for the first time since January 3. Yep, nearly four months!!; it felt great. The midpoint view was pretty spectacular, too.
I spent the day catching up with friends and knitting. Then I grabbed a quick nap to get ready for the weekend’s highlight – a wedding!

This is the first wedding Marc and I have been to since Katie got married (almost five years ago!).
The bride is the stepdaughter of one of Marc’s good friends (and the bride’s mom is a friend of mine). We went with two other couples who were also at Katie’s wedding … so much fun!

the bride’s mom is 3rd from the left (showing off the pockets in her dress – very smart design element!) and her husband is standing next to her |

tradition! the bride and groom are carried on chairs for this dance! |
Needless to say, we were toast yesterday. Holly had more energy than the two of us combined. …and only when I poured out her entire toy stash onto the floor.
I took this photo when I got into bed. I did actually read a few pages past this point, but the photo is timestamped 8:11pm.

As Bright as Heaven … very good so far |
Thankfully, we felt like ourselves again today!
I hope you had some fun this weekend, too … but maybe not so much that you were toast yesterday 😉. Happy Monday!
What a fantastic weekend! And, really how fun to get dressed up and go out with friends (even if it does make for a 'toast' day following!)And, thanks for the book highlight! I am getting eager for Summer Book Bingo!!
Looks like a fabulous weekend! And the book looks very good too.
That wedding sounds wonderful, I'm glad you got to go with friends and have such a good time.
you both look great! love your dress
also i can't believe you got dad to smilie for so many photos!
smile* (why won't google let you edit comments?)
Looks like a great weekend, Mary! Weddings are always so much fun – such special celebrations. (I LOVE your dress!!!)XOXO
What a great weekend! Sounds "toast worthy" to me! 😉
A wonderful weekend, even if you did have to go to bed early and lacked energy on Sunday. Weddings are always such wonderful celebrations with so many happy, smiling people gathered together in one place. I love your dress and like the bride's mother, I think all dresses should have pockets!(On a completely different note, I'm looking forward to your thoughts on As Bright As Heaven. A friend recommended it and I started reading, but got to the part about Quakertown Cemetery and had to put it down. We had just buried my father there the day before and while it wasn't the right book for me at the time, I'm wondering if the Spanish flu story is worth giving it another try.)
What wonderful pictures! Such happy faces! I'm glad you had a chance to have some fun with your friends and get all spiffed up! Your dress is lovely! (And go M-O-T-B…pockets!)
The view of the lake is amazing! A large wedding and the party after would wear out the most hearty! I have to say I'll have Hava Nagila dancing through my head the rest of the day! I love your dress and the MOB, as well!
Oh I love weddings! You two look great!
weddings are the best, and that couple looks so sweet (and young!). You two look fabulous 🙂 I have a wedding to attend in June and I cannot wait, it's my friend's daughter 🙂
