Unraveled Wednesday.

As of this morning, I have not one, not two, but three new sweaters for our trip.

First, the black cardigan. Thankfully, there wasn’t any more unraveling after the story I shared two weeks ago.

Then, the blue tank, which also works great as a layering piece.

And last, All the Love. I finished the body in early January and set it aside to finish Bodie (then Footprints and the two sweaters above). Adding the two sleeves and a neckband was quick! I’ve got the fan blowing full speed; hopefully it will be dry to wear on the plane Friday morning. The fiber is a wool/silk/yak blend in a DK weight; I think it might even work with white jeans for a casual evening. We’ll see.

After all those sweaters, it feels kind of weird to have just one project on the needles. I’m sure it won’t mind a bit of monogamous attention for two days 😊.
On the reading front, I’m slogging through Before We Were Yours. A few of y’all read and loved it but I’m finding it bleak and cruel. It turns into a pumpkin tomorrow and I still have 40% to go. If it weren’t a bookclub pick, I’d just give it up. If you have any encouragement for me, please share!
Hop on over to Kat’s to see what others are knitting and reading!

  1. Wow, just wow! My poor hitchhiker is next to me yelling, "Get going! Mary can finish three sweaters and you can't manage a simple scarf?" All three sweaters look great, and I hope you have your flight and trip knitting planned!

  2. I've got the same knitting sentiment as Bonny! 🙂 Though I do have a recently blocked sweater and a commitment to myself to get it seamed up starting this weekend! And I made a list of books the other day in which BWWY was included. Interesting description…I've no time for cruel these days!

  3. Yup, agreeing with Bonny and Patty. You are a very fast knitter and all 3 sweaters look so lovely. I'm betting you get a ton of use out of all of them. And, yes, curious about your plane and vacation knitting plans…..

  4. Keep going – the end is worth the wait! I cried much throughout, but the ending is so fantastic and very inspiring! And, your knitting… boy, I am humbled to think I was smoking along! You, my dear friend, have tossed me in the dust! FANTASTIC knitting!

  5. YOU are fast master knitter. Like a Ninja fast! Wow. Each sweater is beautiful and they will be fantastic additions to your wardrobe. My dream is to have a closet of beautiful, wearable sweaters, just like yours. Have a fantastic trip to the sun and warmth of Mexico's beaches.

  6. Yay! I'm all but finished with my knitting for the Olympics and am ready to get back to Parallelogram!! Love that new sweater and can't wait to see it modeled (with white jeans?)!

  7. Oh, and I was just telling Kat that When We Were Yours has been popping up on my suggestion lists for quite a while — I hadn't known anyone that had read it, so thanked her for her 5-star review. AND NOW THIS!! Haha.

  8. Three beautiful sweaters! And you are truly my knitting inspiration, Mary! As for the book, I think I have it, but it doesn't sound like something I would want to read right now. Hope you were able to push through it.

  9. I think that newest sweater will look fabulous with white jeans! Tres chic! 🙂 Everything looks great, Mary — perfect for your style and wardrobe. And that Parallelogram looks like so much fun. I love the colors.XO

  10. look at all your knits!! beautiful! I have that book on my list to read and now I'm wondering if I should…let me know what you think in the end. Your scarf/shawl is pretty with the colors!

  11. So much knitting-LOVE! I was not overly impressed with Before We Were Yours-it was a little hard to follow and I was like – wait? What? way too often. It might be a good book to discuss cause sometimes discussion gives a book more street creds.
