It feels like full-on December here, in spite of the unseasonably warm temperatures (which are supposed to end tomorrow … and there’s even a snowflake in next week’s forecast – yikes!). Must be something about twinkle lights, Christmas trees and plenty of holiday music!
more fun with Charlie and the box (by the end of the morning that box had been reduced to four flat pieces of cardboard) :: amaryllis watch begins :: decorating the tree :: a most welcome Saturday afternoon pause (and that tiny bit of knitting is all the knitting there was) :: twinkle lights :: a not-so-happy morning walk partner :: Family Holiday with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra :: after-the-concert playtime with both boys (and a new box 😉)
The Family Holiday program was a lot of fun. Fifty five minutes of music and a variety of activities beforehand, including a photobooth
It’s great to be able to include my mom in outings like this. She has moved up here, but the development she’s moving into isn’t quite ready. We’re hopeful she’ll be able to move in before Christmas. Until then, her stuff is in storage and she’s camped out in my sister’s guest room (with an occasional sleepover here). We’ll definitely be making new traditions this year … four generations all together is a blessing, especially for the holidays.
Hope your December is off to a great start – happy Monday!
How lovely that your mom is with you! It would be nice if she was a little more settled, but that will happen in time, and the important part is being together. I'm looking forward to seeing that amaryllis grow!My boys loved boxes, so they were favored playthings for years. We eventually started building things that they could play in; the castle out of refrigerator boxes was fun for all of us. I just asked the local appliance store to save boxes for me and they were happy to oblige. We used something like these to connect pieces ( https://www.make.do/ and https://mrmcgroovys.com/ ) when tape wouldn't hold. Besides Legos, boxes were the best!
How nice to have your mom with you, especially for the holidays! Good luck with your amaryllis!
You are going to enjoy having your whole family near. Your mother is going to enjoy it, too! Oh, and so will Charlie, Sam, and Katie!
It's awesome that your mom is close, especially that it's in time for the holidays! Looks like a really fabulous weekend.
I'm so glad your mom is close (even though she has to go through the hassle of moving twice. . . ). It will make things much easier for all of you — and bring peace of mind, too. So glad you all enjoyed the symphony! (The current Executive Director of your symphony was my former colleague. Small world . . . ) And boxes? Aren't they the BEST playthings! XO
What a fun weekend! And I'm sure Christmas will be extra special with your mom there. I'll be looking forward to seeing your amaryllis! I'm afraid my thumb isn't very green – I'm trying to keep my Christmas cactus alive. : )
Oh how fun! And I think that your new 4-generation traditions will be wonderful!
I'm glad your mom has arrived. 🙂 We've not a begun to decorate yet but I'm certain by the end of Sunday we will be in full Christmas mode. What a fun weekend you've had!
Sounds like the symphony knows how to "entertain" the little ones!
Wonderful magic with your mom there with you! What fun! So much new things to do and share with her…as already evidenced by the photo collage. Those glasses Katie and Charlie are wearing are too cool!Cheers~
how exciting to have your mother closer! I bet she can't wait to have a space called her own.
Oh, how fun for all of you!! I hope your mom's house is ready soon!
