Joining in with Kat and crew to share what I’m knitting and reading. Believe it or not, I’m still working on Sam’s birthday blanket. We did get out a little more this week.
We knitted through nap time (twice),
got a pedicure,
met up with friends for coffee and knitting (twice),
and enjoyed a FaceTime call with Diane and a Zoom with Honoré and Kat.
We also watched Georgia Tech lose (I hate to say this, but I think that’s probably good practice … being a Tech fan is hard). And we watched the Yankees lose twice … and then win twice (hopefully we’ll see them win two more times – I’m also hoping the blanket is done before the World Series starts!). We also watched a few episodes of Chelsea (which I justified because feminism. never too young to learn about that).
Apart from all that, we’ve listened to hours of Audible. Last week I finished A Gathering of Shadows and immediately started A Conjuring of Light, the concluding book in the trilogy. These books do have some violence, and there’s some PG-13 sex, but I think the themes of good vs. evil, loyalty, friendship and family are solid lessons for any age. I’m going to start Beartown next; trust the themes in that book will serve little Sam well, too.
So here’s to monogamous knitting – and hopefully I’ll have a new project to share next week!
Head over to Kat’s to see what others are knitting and reading. And thank you Kat for hosting!
So glad you're getting out and about so much! The blanket is lovely, and looks fun to knit, too. XO
That blanket is gorgeous!
The blanket is beautiful! Hope you continue to enjoy knitting this project!
I had to laugh at "Believe it or not, I'm still working on Sam's birthday blanket." If I was knitting a birthday blanket for either one of my sons, they would be lucky to see it completed within the next several years! I hope you and the lovely blanket continue to enjoy your outings and fun together over the next week or so!
Sounds like you and the blanket are having a great time together!
I am with Bonny as I too chuckled at that. Monogamous knitting is not my strong suit, case in point – I began swatching last night with plutolopi… But, that blanket is really stunning and it is perfect for Sam!
That monogamous knitting got me to a finished sweater but like others, it is not my usual approach.
Loving that blanket!!
The blanket is so handsome, why wouldn't you want to take it everywhere?
I'm with all and especially Margene: that is a wonderful sweater and I'm glad it likes "to go" so much!Soon we'll know how the World Series will shape up…Cheers~
You and the blanket had some fun outings, and am glad it was ready for Sam's birthday.
