Weekending.

It was a pretty typical weekend for us. Marc played golf. I knitted and read and took a few walks. We made Mexican for dinner Saturday night and, in honor of Father’s Day, cooked sausages last night and watched a LOT of golf (did you know that the US Open is always played on Father’s Day weekend? yep, me neither until this year!)

Lydia and I got together for a little wine and knitting Saturday afternoon – it was great fun to have some one on one time. Of course we talked a lot about our Alaska plans and we decided we’re going to participate in Marie Greene’s crazy knit-along to knit Stillwater in four days. We both anticipate a bit of free time over the 4th of July weekend, so we’re going to start July 1 and hopefully finish up on the 4th. It looks like fun right? We’d love to have more of y’all join us!

Hope you had a wonderful weekend and your week is off to a great start!

  1. Sounds like a very nice weekend. I have "south of Broad" on my Kindle…my next one to read. Let us know how the Ruth Reichl book is (I loved My Kitchen Year). And…Stillwater in 4 days??? No way I could do that – LOL, but I'm sure you will whiz through it.

  2. Oh my! I don't think I've got the motivation to knit a sweater in four months (or possibly not even four years), but I will be cheering you and Lydia along from the sidelines!

  3. Oh how you tempt…I have 8 car hours ahead of me this weekend! But…not looking at your shiny object! 🙂

  4. Sounds like a nice low key weekend. I imagine golf watching is great for knitting time! And I spy South of Broad on your nightstand – hooray!

  5. Four days???? Um… I think I'll pass. But it's a delightful design — and I'd love to knit it someday. 😉 Sounds like a great weekend, Mary. XO

  6. I may have lost my mind, but I started swatching for my SECOND Stillwater last night to knit with you all! I have one repeat of the chart to go and I will be ready to knit the ribbing. I hope to have that done shortly and then I hope to begin sleeve one tonight at knitting!

  7. oh I hope you have tons of fun knitting a sweater in FOUR days 🙂 That would be such a down and dirty treat. You can do it.

  8. Four days! I'm here to cheer you on! And eager to see the finished project! I think you had a really nice and relaxing weekend. More to come!Cheers~

  9. I never knew that about the US Open, and it was so much fun to get together. I had best get to swatching for that sweater!
