An Ideal Walk.

This week’s Think Write Thursday topic is to write a post describing our ideal day. I’ve been thinking about it since Monday (when Carole announced the topic) and I still haven’t been able to come up with one ideal day. well, at least not one that would fit into 24 hours. So I’m taking the easy way out and writing about one thing that for sure would be part of my ideal day – a walk.

I have only three “musts”: outside. at least two (and probably not more than five) miles long. and not dangerous (e.g., no fear of falling off cliffs or into water or slipping on ice).

That leaves a lot of options!

I love walks with a friend. or by myself.

Exploring someplace new or a very familiar path in my neighborhood or local park.

Spring, summer, fall or winter.

A leisurely stroll or a brisk pace to get my heart rate up.

I’m fortunate that nearly all my days include at least one of these ideal walks. and extra bonus that most of them also come with a photo or two (the photos I’ve included here are from the three walks I’ve taken with Holly in my mom’s neighborhood).

Thank you, Kat and Carole for another fun week! If you’re not already playing along, click here to join in!

  1. I'll join you any day for a walk in that neighborhood! The photos are gorgeous…especially viewed on a grey, rainy day! Thanks for the light!Cheers~

  2. Blue Skies!!! Sad to say we are back to greyness and dampness. Seems like we can't get good weather to stick around!

  3. Another volunteer here to join the walk through your mother's incredible flower-filled neighborhood! With those orchid, lovely roses, and especially bougainvillea to see I would want to walk for at least five miles!

  4. Your photos of the flowers are leaves are lovely! I love the idea of a daily walk in a new place. Soon I'll have my mornings free and my plan is to find new places to walk.

  5. Oh those flowers and that blue sky…send it north please! Doug and I rarely walk together in the morning during the week. This morning we did and we were treated with a fly over by the bald eagle spending time at the lake! Have a wonderful Mother's Day Mary!
