Hello April.

this afternoon – with a new spring wreath on the front door!

Hello April,

I’m glad to see you! You are our first real month of spring – so many shades of green (and pink!), the end of all that yucky pine pollen, cool mornings and evenings and days warmed by sunshine, maybe even some porch time and for sure, long evenings. You’re also our last cool breath before summer and this year, thanks to those dark-early walks with Marc, I intend to savor you even more.

Thankfully, the first day passed without incident; the end of March threw me a few curve balls and I’m still feeling a bit wobbly. I’d especially ask you to be kind to Renie and the rest of Tom’s family. and to Katie and her little family.

I’ve signed up for Michelle GD’s Just Five Things (the class officially kicks off tomorrow) and I really don’t know what to expect – except that we’re going to write lists. I love lists. especially fun ones. so … here are five fun things I’m wishing for this month:

1. lots and lots of laughter – and photos – from our annual Beaufort weekend.

2. a happy-ish (i.e., not completely devastating) end to Homeland Season 6.

3. more fun with Betty and Beth when they visit the end of this month.

4. getting ready for another summer of Book Bingo (yes, y’all, I have plans to host and I promise we will not be “generously interpreting” any weird squares!)

5. planning out a photo gallery for our entryway.

It sounds good, right? Let’s get to it!

  1. Excellent list for April. I'm IN for Book Bingo and I'll help if I can. I missed out on the Just Five Things class but I'm thinking of doing the 100 Day Project.

  2. I wish I had signed up for Just Five Things but maybe that will remind me not to procrastinate the next time it's offered. Yes to Book Bingo, and let me know if there is anything I can do (maybe think up weird squares? ;-))

  3. Loving that you're doing Book Bingo! It is very helpful in getting me close to my reading goal for the year. Here's to April Mary…I think it's going to be great!

  4. Great list and so glad to hear that Book Bingo will be on! I'm looking forward to joining in the fun.PS Pretty wreath too!

  5. Our spring is very wet so far but the beautiful blossoming trees have hung on despite the deluge. I do not look forward to May's pine pollen showers. Your month sounds lovely and I'll give BB a go!

  6. Lovely wreath, Mary! Let's all hope for a calm and peaceful April. XO (And – let me know if you need any help with the bingo-thingo.)XO

  7. Pine pollen – double yuck! But, beyond that – your welcome to April is beautiful! And, I am eagerly awaiting book bingo and you can count me in!

  8. We have trees that are starting to bloom and that makes me happy. : ) Hope April is kind to you and your family – it sure sounds like you have some great things to look forward to this month.

  9. Spring has finally sprung here in WDC! T'is lovely and not too humid…yet! Looking fwd to enjoying the season and all the goodness it brings. Enjoy your trip to Beaufort – drive safely and looking forward to seeing what you've cooked up for Summer Book Bingo! You go girl!Cheers~

  10. I've done Michelle's classes many times, they are what you want them to be, which is right up my alley!! Yay for being classmates 🙂

  11. I enjoy April-not quite hot, but not cold. Calendar has fun stuff, but it's not to the point of being overwhelming
