…it’s been nearly five months since I shared more of my Daily Yoga story here. That last update, on July 22 marked 60 days in a row. Yesterday, I hit 200.
I haven’t missed a day since May 23. Most days it’s fifteen minutes while the coffee brews or just before bed, but almost every Wednesday it’s an hour of Yin at the Y. I worked through an elbow and hamstring injury and started back to Saturday afternoon Power classes in October. I’m hoping to make them a regular routine again this weekend.
Year-to-date, I’ve spent 164 hours (and 35 minutes – of course I’m keeping track!) on the mat. It’s definitely a habit. I still need more work on balance, but my flexibility has improved and I feel stronger. It’s amazing what just 15 minutes a day can do for my body…and my mind.
This one day at a time thing really worked for me. Elise has updated the tracker for 2016 and I’m in. My “dailies” already include 10,000 steps, a photo, journaling and a devotion. I’m not sure yet what I’ll add next year.
Are there habits you’ve committed to (or would like to have) on a daily basis? Suggestions welcome!

Good for you, Mary! I use an app on my phone called Habit List and I have found that to be really helpful. You can set up habits for daily reminders, so many times a week/month, etc. It's worked really well for me.
I need to decide what "dailies" would be doable in my life. I run helter skelter most of the time!
And, I meant to congratulate you for your 200 days, 164 hours of yoga!
Such a great challenege! Sounds like a great way to build positive habits.
Great job, Mary! I definitely could use something like this…seems like a great visual reminder. And you've got me considering just what my "dailies" might be. I think a big one right now would be carving out some peaceful time in my day.
Well done! I'll be honest; I can't imagine any daily thing that I could/would successfully commit to for the long-term. Maybe napping, knitting, and reading? 😉 These aren't exactly the productive kind of daily habits that you've built!
So impressive Mary! I think I like Bonny's commit schedule too!
Good for you-am hoping to add yoga to my routine or a weekly dance class. I know I'll only stick with it if I GO somewhere to do it.
Congratulations!! That's a lot of days in a row!
Well done! Too many to list but I keep going at 'em. One I do plan to resume: drawIng/sketching/coloring- something in that vein. I love the meditative quality. TBC…Cheers~
