…why yes, it is Friday and I have an FO to share! I unpinned my Through the Loops Summery Mystery shawl this morning and got out my big camera for the photoshoot. If you don’t want to see, click away. This post is full of spoilers!

Kirsten wrote the pattern for two colors, and I’d originally planned to use two, but found a fourth skein of the Ivory and decided to go for monochrome. I think it works especially well with this color (yes, off-white is a color!)
The shawl is supposed to be a semi-circle, but my finished piece is 60″ wide and 33″ long, a tiny bit oval. I’m really glad I omitted one of the repeats (in the section before the mesh lace) or it would be noticeably oval-ish (and yikes, even bigger!) I modeled it on the backside of the dress form just for fun. I really think I’ll wear it more like a cowl (as in the first photo above).
I do love the Shibui Staccato for lace. It blocks beautifully and has a slight sheen, thanks to the silk content; it’s also nice to knit.
That’s pretty much the whole story, but I’ve updated my Ravelry project page if you want to see more.
Wishing everyone a happy weekend!
This is absolutely beautiful. Truly. So delicate … It looks wonderful on the model but it's going to look even better on you. I do hope you will post a photo :).
It is beautiful! I really like the solid ivory. I'm still working on mine and am about 2/3 of the way through the edging… it seems to be taking forever!

Superb! I'm breathless. This is one gorgeous, stunning piece Mary! Congratulations and wear it in the very best of health and with pride!Cheers~
This is really beautiful, I've been thinking about a lace shawl as my magnum opus before the end of the year. It's been a long time since I've done a lace shawl with a light weight yarn.
Wow, that is stunning! I *LOVE* the "color"! My favorite way to wear a shawl is as a cowl, but I love having the options! (And now, I'm really itching to get mine finished!)
Just gorgeous! I think your decision to knit it in solid off-white was absolutely perfect. Congratulations on your beautiful shawl!
That is the most beautiful knitted item I've seen in a long time – simple love it!Linda in VA
Your shawl is gorgeous and so is the way you showed it off. Beautiful! I am working on my mesh and knitting to the end might take me the rest of the year. Kirsten's design is lovely and I'm going to love it once done. My weekend started today and I'm loving every minute of it.
Wow, wow, wow! Beautiful work Mary. the color is just wonderful!
That is a gorgeous shawl and I love the neutral color. Mine has been languishing for the past 2 clues – your finished photos are the kick in the ass I needed to get back to it.
So lovely, Mary. I really like the neutral, all-one-color version. Just beautiful!
