…Carole’s prompt this week has us thinking about our favorite summertime drinks. Here’s my list:
These first four are actually my favorite drinks in any season (and I couldn’t make a list of ten without including them):
1. coffee.
2. red wine.
3. water.
4. gin cocktails, but the tonic and lime, or maybe a dash of rhubarb bitters, makes it special for summer.
and once the temperatures start to rise, I add in these:
5. white wine, especially sauvignon blanc, pinot grigio and picpoul de pinet.
6. beer, Sweetwater (brewed locally) makes a bright, summery IPA that I’m loving right now.
7. frozen margaritas.
8. iced tea with lemonade, also known as an Arnold Palmer; it’s also really good with Tazo Passion Tea.
9. white wine sangria.
10. iced coffee.
I'd drink anything on your list (except maybe the beer). Summer is the time for refreshing a crisp. Bitter quenches thirst better than sweet, which shows on your list. Here's to you. clink
I've never heard of rhubarb bitters and got quite excited when I found a recipe to make it myself, but my stock of cinchona bark and angelica root is running low. 😉 I did find some at Amazon and thank you for making my g&t extra tasty this summer!
It's all yummy!
I love ice tea with lemonade, and am waiting for peaches to be more reasonable so I can add them to sangria-love summertime drinks.
Arnold Palmer's one of my favs, too. I guess my list would also include iced H2O with lemon slices.Cheers~
