…and a happy new year! we spent a very quiet new year’s eve at home. just the two of us (plus holly) with our own homemade pizzas. we didn’t even finish the bottle of bordeaux we opened (never mind the champagne…that bottle is still on ice!) which meant I was way more productive yesterday than I usually am on january 1. and that means I’m going to have project updates to share soon. (major costco photo order to pickup today or I’d probably be sharing those updates now.)

in between editing photos and looking back on my one little word, I did a little research on blogging platforms and a lot of fiddling with the settings here…and decided I’m going to stay put. (it didn’t hurt, either, that I have a pile of contact cards which show my blog name as mere-et-filles.blogspot.com). all that fiddling has finally allowed me to add threaded comments. yes, we can now have a dialog in the comments, which is, I think, way more interesting than the one-sided conversation we could have before.

I have always tried to acknowledge the comments, usually that meant replying in an email. I might still do that…but I hope I can reply here more often. encouraging the dialog so to speak. I think it will be great, too, for y’all to reply to each other. we’ll see how it goes.

I also tidied up the sidebar. and added links to follow me on flickr, twitter, pinterest and instagram  (nothing like encouraging the on-line “community”.)

I need to find a ravelry button, too!

all of this great new stuff required me to update the blog’s template. blogger has definitely made huge strides in the nearly six years since I started mere-et-filles; the new template has just what I needed (except for the colors) out of the box. hopefully that will make it easier for me to post and maintain content. we’ll see. in the meantime, if anything seems flaky, please let me know.
